Long Time Gone

Long Time Gone has been together in one form or another since the year 2000, with very few member changes over the years. But we're excited to welcome a new bass player in 2026!

Peter Brooks is approaching 50 years of dedication to the extended bass family. He finds it easier to list the music genres he has NOT played than otherwise! He cut his teeth on the notorious West Bank blues scene in the early 1980s. Also an accomplished singer, he brings along new songs to the band's repertoire and adds another layer to our harmony vocals.

Pete is absolutely pumped to bring his energy to Long Time Gone and we're happy to have his high level of musical talent as part of the band.

Just a heads up that Long Time Gone is starting to play more gigs. We are back at Hobgoblin for our annual Fall concert (November 30) and are already booked for the Winter Bluegrass Weekend in Minneapolis on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 6 pm. 

We'll keep you posted as our schedule fills out over the course of the year and hope to see you soon! Meanwhile, here's a photo from a recent outing to Ansari's Mediterranean Grill in Eagan. 

Just a reminder that Long Time Gone will be at Hobgoblin (finally) in person for our (delayed) 10th annual Fall Bluegrass concert.  All six members of the band will be there: Leo Rosenstein, Barry St Mane, Mike Hildebrandt, Mark Kreitzer, Katryn Conlin and Ben Manning.  We are looking forward to having some fun; always a good time when we are all able to get together.  Hope you can make it too (and bring some of your closest friends).

As we say about Thanksgiving in Red Wing: Thursday is Turkey Day, Friday is the Holiday Stroll and Saturday is Long Time Gone Bluegrass band.  Should be a good time . . .

The Band

This is our favorite show of the year; we get to relax with old friends (and new ones too), play some great music and enjoy something special during the intermission. This year we have Tom Peschges of the Double Down Daredevils in singer-songwriter mode - looking forward to hearing this.  Mark Kreitzer continues to amaze us with his vocal and instrumental vituosity and will once again be featured as a full band member.

The Hobgoblin folks usually put out some snacks and beverages, so come on down for a fun Fall evening with friends. Doors open at 7:00, music starts at 7:30. Tickets: 877-866-3936

We were so happy that the Chinese band Manhu were able to join us for the annual Hobgoblin concert last night.  They are from the Stone Forest region of SW China and actually play “Chinese mountain music”, so it was treat to hear their regional music.  After the show we all posed for photos, one of which is displayed below:
